If you want a 50+", without paying a price close to the national debt in some countries, Plasma is the only way to go. Way too many uninformed, negative comments here about plasma! Make your own decision - to compare, look at:

all i can say is wow. i have a 106cm plasma and its awesome. The plasmas are great tv's. I found with the lcd's that you have to sit directly in front of them or you wont see the pic properly, but with the plasma you can sit anywhere and still get a great view.
Have you considered a front projector? Today, for $1-2,000, you can get a beauty and go way over 55".
get a Plasma Panasonic and Pioneer make some relay nice ones
don't listen to those that say plasmas are bad
they are just jealous
