Annoying lines on my HD TV?

When I watch my Samsung 42" plasma HD, I sometimes see two lines going up the screen, its pretty annoying, anyone know how to get rid of them?

Answer:
I have the same issue with my Sony Bravia LCD TV. It is not the TV - it is interference between the power cables and the video cables going to the TV. It can be "ground loop" interference, or "hum bars". I tracked it to, mostly, the XBox 360's gigantic power bar, which of course sits behind my stereo amongst all the other cables. I was able to minimize the problem by separating the video and power cables as much as possible.

The cause seems to be that the signal on the video cable is 59.6 hz, while the power is at 60hz. When these interfere, the power cable induces a signal shift on the video cable. The reason the lines move is because of the 0.4hz difference - the bad signal from the power line is "ahead" of the video signal, so it gets higher each cycle - moving it up the screen.

One solution you might be able to try is HDMI, which is a purely digital interface, and shouldn't - as far as I know - suffer from this kind of interference.

It was hard for me to find info on all this, so I'll give you some links:
- here's the wikipedia page on ground loops: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ground_loop...
- a page on ground loops, with some info on hum bars too: http://www.elect-spec.com/faqgrdl.htm...
Yeah, get rid of it and get an LCD HDTV
call the manafactor and find out if you are even supposed to have that. We have a plasma hd and do not have that problem. your tv may be difected and needs to be replaced.
call samsung for tech support
It seems like there might be an electrical problem at your home. You may have an open ground or a loose connection at the outlet. HDTV's use a little more power then a regular "old" TV and it might be just enough to show. Call an electrician and have them check it for you, it should be free or very little charge.
