This 51" projection TV was bought new 3 years ago. It starts having this problem 2 days ago. After turning it on, the screen would be on and then immediately off. Light (LED?) in front of TV would flash 6 times repeatedly. Can I fix it myself (I am an engineer)? Should I just junk it and get a new TV? Should I call service? Do you know how much it would cost roughly to fix it? Did unplugged and replugged it with no different results. Thanks
Answer:
Well, if it's a projection HDTV and you've had it for 3 years then I would think it's time to change the bulb. The bulb must be replaced between 2 to 3 years for projection HDTVs. Or go to where you bought it from and tell them what's going on, they'll tell you to replace the bulb or have it repaired. If you have a warranty on your TV then ask them for a new bulb if they'll cover it. But I think it's the bulb, so I hope I helped you.
