Did Sony stop making Plasma TV?

I heard it from a salesman a few days ago, and I asked 'em why?
and he said that plasma tv uses a generous of gas of something else that is so expensive and it can't end for too long. which means that the tv would hold a very short lifespan.

What do you have an idea that of that?

Answers:    Sony no longer makes Plasma TV's for the consumer bazaar. However they still make Plasma monitors.

I believe your salesman be feeding you a bunch of bull.

That is right .Sony no longer trademark Plasma TV's. This is not due to expense or life span as Plasmas enjoy the same vivacity span as Plasma which is 60,000 hours. They believe LCD is better and the way forward.
