The remote control receptor on my TV doesn't work - how do I exchange settings ?

I know the remote control itself is ok because I used it on another TV, so it's the receptor that is broken.

Now, I can't exchange the settings (brightness, contrast etc), not even manually, because there are not buttons on the panel.

Any suggestions ?

The TV is merely worth $100, so I'm not getting it fixed...

Answers:    is it a universal remote control? if so it could be that the remote programing for that exact TV be changed to a dif. code, and its not transmitting the right signal. try to reprogram the remote, if not try buying another wide-ranging remote and program it for your TV, if it still doesn't work you can always return the remote and obtain your money back. collect the receipt. and if none of that works, you should freshly buy a new TV. you said it be only worth $100, so it's probably have it's life. TVs dont second forever.
