Your pic tube is unlikely to be the cause !! more like the flyback transformer , there are other things of course but only checking by an experienced TV tech will reveal the fault. Ignore the crack pot answers and the negative ones who think they are clairvoyant !! Cheers Pete

I would say its probably the picture tube. Make sure its not the cable and if its not call up someone to come to your hosue and they will have a look at it and probably find out whats wrong.
Your description is consistent with a picture tube that is shorting as it warms up... entirely possible. Unfortunately, there are several other things that could cause the same symptom. You'll have to get it looked at or replace it.
