Electrical items - standby - is it sheltered?

Is it safe to walk out items on STANDBY whilst turning them on and off at the leading plug?

For example; I turn my TV off and will it on standby. I then turn my PS3 past its sell-by date and leave it on standby. Instead of turning the foremost switches on the tv and PS off I next simply flick the main wall socket on and stale.

Will the surge in power on and rotten ruin the tv and ps3 if flow was running into them directly or will this be ok?

Answers:    That's NOT SAFE if you do it consistantly....

These TVs are designed to be plugged contained by and powered on 24 / 7.

The "power-on" from the switch does STRESS the standby circuits....and eventually you will need to service it....

Let's NOT sort you pay for a service telephone if we can AVOID it, ok? The REPAIR cost would EXCEED any money saved by conserving electricity....
It's deffinately locked, otherwise it wouldn't pass the sanctuary checks that all electronic devices within the UK pass. The one and only worry is next to old fashioned hasty 90's TV's, where firefighters enjoy stated leaving them on stand-by can unfreeze the cathode and cause a fire.

Personally however, for the sake of abiding energy, only just switch it completely off. Stand-by is singular for switching something off temporarily.
Once you enjoy disconnected the supply it makes no difference to the appliance where on earth the point of disconnection is. I always turn my TV rotten this way it save wear on the TV switch. The only item I wouldn't turn past its sell-by date this way is my computer which wants to unload first.
