How were LCD tvs invented?
Answer:
By progressive andvancement.
1st LCD displays were non backlight, Mono screens, such as those on calculators (simply ones) and watches.
Then matrix versions came out allowing graphic calculators and mono displays on portable (yeah right) computers (Such as Amstrad PPC512)
Later they found that adding a "backlight" improved readability
Progression then found a way to add colour, and with a matrix oc Red Green and Blue you can produce most colours, so colour LCDs for laptops came about.
These developed till they came to a price and reliability that TV manufacturers were happy to use.
Also a lot of SCIENCE went on in the background, and I'm not going to pretend to uderstand all that
some one shone a light between two sheets of glass with liquid in between
The concept for liquid crystal displays was formed in the early 70's where solutions of "nematic crystals" were polarised between two plates of conductive glass to admit or stop light. Conductive glass was made by depositing stannous oxide crystals onto the surface of the glass. First featured in public in the UK in Practical Electronics magazine around 1971/2. The rest is research and advancement in semiconductors in the last 30 years.
I am Sorry I was drunk when I invented it,,,,, Now I have forgotten it.! You Are Late Mate..;)
