I am planning on getting a new lcd tv. I want one that is 37 inches and around 800 to 1100 dollars. I'm gonna use it for an xbox 360 and to watch some sports. Any good brands that you know of or a specific tv that is good?

I would suggest going with a good quality LCD. Don't go cheap or you will be upset with the picture lag you get when watching sports or playing games.
A good model to go with is the Sharp LC37D62U. I just saw it on pricegrabber.com for less than 1200. It's 1080P so it has twice the pixels as the 720P models. You will be very happy with this model.

I have a Akai dvd vcr tv combo i got it like 4 years ago and its great but its 20 inches and u said 37 so. but its a regular tv but with a flat screen. It has a great speakers and ports on the back for hooking up a surround sound speakers. well i like it sonys good to LG sucks
