What is the quality of a store-brand LCD flat-panel TV versus a nationally recognized brand?

I am looking into buying an LCD tv. I have been looking at well known brands versus some entry-level generic store brands. For example, Target sells TruTech and Walmart sells Visco as their generic brands. Has anyone out there bought the generic brands? If so, please tell me your experiences with these. Have you had goodluck or bad luck? Is it really worth paying $1k for a new TV set.

Answer:
General rule: Unknown brands at low priced stores are junk, in comparison to most well know brands, and you may well not be able to get parts or local warranty service for them if they need repair. $1K for a TV today is NOT expensive. Price is relative, and depends on what you use it for, and the screen size. Check out:
