I keep my PS3 within my room and I don't have the form of space to put something large contained by there, I don't call for something that large for my room. I know that PS3 displays at 1080p, but does it display at 720p? Will I certainly see the difference in a video activity? Again, does 1080p come in smaller TV sets. I want something resembling 23" 1080p (does that exist?).

You will not see the difference in the 2 resolutions on something that small. Even a 32" will be frozen, even a 40".
The more resolution you need to riddle a bigger screen.
Its sort of like taking a low resolution video and playing it on a 65" big blind. Its going to look aweful. Vise versa.
1080p will only come contained by 42"+. I would just turn with a 30-42 inch 720p/1080i hdtv. 1080p is overrated
