Why isn't my Direct TV remote responding?

I can't get it off MSNBC and it wont even respond to the power button. Thanks.

LTD is corrrect. You need to do a reset of the box. Here's what you do: Turn OFF the receiver. Then unplug it from the wall. Wait 1 minute. In the meantime, remove the credit card from the slot. Plug in the receiver. Turn ON the TV and the Receiver. Now plug in the credit card. That's refer to by Direct TV as a cold boot.
check to see if any of the other buttons are pushed in. check batteries.
Re-set the box that hooks into your TV...if you do not know where the reset button is, check Direct TV on-line or call them.
We have Direct TV...LOVE it...and have found that the few problems we've had..have been taken care of by resetting the box...
It could also be your TV...
Process of elimination is the only way to know...
