How much should High Definition cable TV service cost per month?

I have analog cable TV service for $20 per month. My provider wishes $60 per month for high definition. Is this too much? Who have good HD TV cable/satellite prices?

Answers:    I feel the price you were quoted is pretty average. Where I live within the mid-Atlantic we have comcast and the cost is something like 55 for Digital starter and 85 for digital prefered with HBO. It consequently goes up greater when adding more premium channel. Whick provider has pious prices depends on where you live and who's offering cable thought so I can't really share you specifically.
Your providere is trying to con you (rip you off). First of all, films surrounded by HD are extremely rare at the moment and TV hasn't get that far yet. For the few films you can examine in HD, you requirement a HD TV to view them as they should be. The industry is not honest and is not informing subscribers that even next to a HD TV, the difference in aspect is not very significant. Also, if you don't own HDTV, you can still watch HD movies etc. but you will be watching them at one and the same resolution, picture quality etc. as you do in a minute. Therefore, if you are hapy with your current TV and it's competence, I wouldn't touch HD until the prices of the TV come down a lot. A 200% increase surrounded by subscription is not justifiable near only HD as the excuse. Tell them to shove it and find a more honest provider.
time out. I am assuming you enjoy an HD tv or you wouldnt be asking this question. The price sounds low if truth be told, unless you are getting the basic roll with only just normal HD channel (no Movie channels) then its almost right. Ask your provider how many HD channel come with it, usually between 8- 15 in anticipation of on your area (not including HBO, Cin, SHO etc.) Either path, get it. It is worth every cent. I own an HD TV and the HD package (I payment $150 per month but that includes my cable, phone and premium cable etc.) There is nothing better than watching something surrounded by HD, especially if you have a massive TV. Smaller TV's can have a extraordinarily good picture on regular service, but once you obtain into you 40" + TV's HD makes adjectives the difference in the world. I enjoy had HD service for over 3 years, and I still draw from enjoyment out of switching from HD wager on to regular TV just to appreciate how clear the picture is. Sports are great (whether football, soccer, golf, hockey, or baseball which I find myself watching and I cant stand baseball but the picture is so clear its close to being near.) The only means of access to really do better in price is to shop around for specials, for the most portion all the providers are alike and pretty much the same cost (some own a few different features and vary a bit in price, but most are close ample that it doesnt really make a difference) The merely exception is Direct TV withe the NFL package (I do not own, not a Dish fan, but would love to own the Sunday Ticket package). Regardless or who you get your service from, carry it. You will not regret getting HD.
another option is to return with an HD antenna and pick some channels up for free. Depending where on earth you live, I get in the order of 14 HD channels and the pic is better than it is thru the cable.
