My grandma have an ancient tv. She have cable service and the signal works solely when set to focus 8. No clear pic?

The tv must be set to channel 8 to receive the cable. Usually, on most tv's its passageway 3 or 4. Also, the picture doesn't come in clearly. I believe that the TV is 30 years antediluvian. However, before, she be using an 80 year old tv and the cable worked clearly. The tv just just now died, though...I think that perchance the tv isn't cable-ready...If so, how could one make it cable organized? Isn't there some adapter or something resembling that?

Answers:    Channel 8 is a HARMONIC of Channel 3.....

Harmonics are never as good as the inventive frequency....

Set her TV to channel 3 and if you single get snow on that canal, then her tuner is discouraging....

And at 30 years, NO parts will be available....

Christmas is coming....maybe the family circle should pitch in together and acquire her a new TV set....
