Can anyone help bought venturer 15ins tv/dvd player from ebay every 15mins the tv cuts its self off?

check its not set to 'batterysave'' mode...
if not then its faulty, and thats the chance you take buying second-hand from ebay.. the seller won't want to know..
It could be the sleeptimer. Thats what was wrong with mine when it was doing the same thing. Go onto the menu and look for the sleeptimer and switch it off. If its not the sleeptimer It could be the automatic shutdown facility try pushing any button on your remote control and it should de activate the countdown timer.
Not sure about that model, but Hitachi crt's switch onto standby and take a while to switch on again.
The problem is caused by the solder on the circuit boards drying out and starting to crack due to the vibration from the speakers and of course the heat.
As a safty feature to protect the tv it goes into standby. This can be repaired at a modest cost £75 for me.
I know of other Hitachi tv's that have had the same problem. The tv engineer told me that it is a common problem.
I guess if you have bought it from ebay the cost of a repair would not be viable. If it was recently and you paid through paypal you could try for a refund?
