Can I fix the fading color on My big screen?

We have had our TV for eight years. The sound it great, and we love the big picture but I've noticed that even much smaller and cheaper tv's have better color. Can we get brighter color out of our tv? Can we replace the Color tube or something?

Answer:
If you can't adjust the brightness and color to suit your taste then it is ime for a new set. Eight years for a big screen is about all you can wxpwce so it is time to think about a new one. Remember a lot of progress has taken place in the past eight years. That is a long time in for electronics.
What kind of TV? If its a CRT and there is no brightness adjustment that is accessible then you have to bring it to a repair shop and they can do all the adjustments for you. No guarantee though that the CRT isn't just weak and will be able to be adjusted up very much.
