I have a basic cheapy freeview box and was wondering how I can get extra channels such as Living? I know there is some kind of top up package but can I use that with the box I have now because I don't really want to have to buy a new one.

To get top up tv on your freeview box it needs to have a slot to put a viewing card in it. You get limited streaming from Top Up TV can be annoying when you are watching TCM for instance and it cuts off 10 min before the end of a film! We only had ours for a few months before we decided get rid of it and stick with channels we had!

No you cant. Bite the bullet and buy a more modern one. They are relatively cheap and surely its better to be able to watch the channels you want to.
