What is the differance between a L C D tv an a H D tv?
Answer:
LCD is Liquid Crystal Display and it's the type of television
characterized by its thinness and lightness as opposed to CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) TV, which is what most people used to own. It's it's a foot or two deep and quite heavy because of the lead content.
HD is High Definition and it's a digital signal that is broadcast to your HDTV by television stations. HDTV is simply equipped to receive an HD signal unlike a lot of TVs today, which are equipped to receive analog signals only.
HDTVs are becoming popular because they have greater screen resolution which makes for a excellent picture quality.
LCD is liquid crystal display ( like the flat screen you see on today's computer moniters.
HD is high defination. you see those in a lot of flat screen TV's
Derek has you pretty well covered, I might add that a LCD TV is not necessarily a HD TV. HD is available as a CRT, LCD, Plasma, Projection, just about anything that is produced now can be Digital, and can be HD. but not necessarily. You can expect by Feb of 2009 all TVs will be digital and most will probably be one form or another HD. In the US you will soon see signs identifying analog TVs, this is mandated by law so you will not purchase a TV that will not be able to rec. a digital signal after Feb. 2009.
