Panasonic Plasma Problem?
For some root, I have horizontal bar across the top and bottom of almost all channel. This means the HD channel that broadcast non-hd programming are framed in black, since they include pillar boxes on the side.
Is this because of the coaxial cable? Or is this a different problem?

Answers: PRESS the FORMAT button or the ASPECT button on your remote control.....
Set it to FULL or STANDARD.
If you press it again and again, it will CYCLE thru adjectives your choices...normally give you 4 choices.
I think you are seeing infirm content (4:3 Ratio, Square) being broad casted on a digital low.
Non-HD programming will appear like that. Most folks just stretch the picture out so that it will imbue the screen.
The HDMI and Component cable are made for HD content to be displayed correctly. If you have an HD Cable box beside an HDMI out, you will get a alot better picture using the HDMI cable.
Its not ''bad'' to hook it up approaching that, its just your not optimizing the picture talent available.
It should come with some component cable (red, green, blue) for digital video information and (red, white) for audio information. That will probably get you by until HDMI cable come in.
a) Coax out of an HDTV set-top box could be unpromising. (I think it just sends SD signals). I recommend using component cables until your HDMI comes. If you don't own true-component cables, of late use any RCA cables you enjoy around (you will need 5; 3 for video and 2 for audio).
b) Configure your set-top box for a 16:9 TV (it may still be setup for a 4:3 TV)
c) Use the aspect button on your remote to cash the aspect ration on your TV. Your set-top box remote may also have an aspect/format button as very well.
