TV sensitive to neighbor's remote control?
There's another TV in the house that doesn't have this problem at all (but it was damaged by lightening - whole other story).
Answer:
sounds like a dual tuner... you need to change your remote address.
-on TV1 (green remote) press the menu button twice quickly, you should get the system info screen.
-bring the TV2 (blue remote) to this TV. Hold down the "SAT" button until all the mode buttons flash red.
-press the number 8 (random address number)
-press the pound key (mode buttons will flash again)
-press the record key. On the bottom of the screen your tv2 address should now show #8, you may need to press record more than once.
If you don't follow the first two steps correctly... you may change your neighbors address too, and fix nothing.
Your owners manual may also instruct you how to do this.
How close are you to your neighbor? Have you talked to them about it.
It seems like someone is putting you one. TV remotes work on infrared and require some degree of line of sight. Generally they will not work through a wall.
i would call dish network and have them come over and fix the problem
it actually may not be your neighbor at all.
try switching the remote battery. the remote will change channels on it's own when the battery power is low.
if the problem continues contact dish network.
Number 1 is wrong. Sat remotes use RF, not infrared... so it CAN go through walls.
Number 2 is a viable option.
Number 3 has no clue.
Number 4 seems to know what he's talking about, but I'd still read up on it.
I would vote for answer number 4, read the manual about changing remote codes, visit Dish's website support section, and/or just call them.
Maybe he has UHF remote capabilities. This would explain why he can change your channels & you can't change his. It should have codes that can be set so it won't interfere with another unit. I have 2 receivers in the house with UHF remotes.
