Broken Television: High Pitched Humming Noise?

Hi,

My television have stopped working. When the television is turned on, nil is displayed, and there is a shrill humming noise. Any proposal would be appreciated.

Answers:    I'll bet that high-pitched humming boom sounds like ....
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
doesn't it......

One of two possibilities....
Your power supply rectifier is shorted on the 130V procession
OR
Your Horizontal output is shorted....
I'd expect $10 to $30 in parts, and depending on the SIZE of your TV set, $85 for small or $150 for LARGE picture tube TV for LABOR.
What sort of TV is it? If it is a tube TV it could be a crack in the tube or a blown AC/DC power supply, within either valise it is usually better to look for a new tv. If you dont imagine it is either one of these... it could be your motherboard, but transport it to a repair shop to confirm.
I bet ya its an RCA!
