What's a good TV that gives you more bang for your buck?

HDTV, great brand, great quality and around 40-42 inches. I can't buy online so it has to be major chain stores such as radio shack, best buy, circuit city...you get the idea.

Answer:
Dollar for dollar, best value for picture and reliability, Panasonic 42" plasma. Or Costco has a 37" Panasonic plasma for $899.
I would suggest the Samsung LCD line. Great contrast ratio, image and nice price point. Samsung isn't the best, but meets the price point. LG would be my second choice. If you want the best, that would be Panasonic. Panasonic is in the same ballpark as Sony. You pay a little more for the brand and quality.

As for where to buy it, I have bought HDTV's from Best Buy and Circuit City. I prefer Circuit City because they are willing to negotiate. Best Buy hasn't been willing. Radio Shack goes in the same garbage pile as K-Mart, Target and Walmart. They all sell crap, plus never have sales or financing plans like the other stores.
