Witch brand makes the best LCD screens for viewing normal tv chanels?
Answer:
1st, read pro reviews at CNet.com (and sister ZNet.com) and at www.LCDbuyingguide.com.
After you are familiar with what's happening today with LCDs, go to a large TV store and look at LCDs, and maybe plasmas, so YOU can compare the pictures. Sony is generally a highly rated LCD, but pricey!
Sony's LCD's are one, if not the best, for HDTV signals (I have the 46 XBR), but one of the worst for standard definition (regular TV) broadcasts.
In February 2009 all TV broadcast will be digital, so I can handle only 1-1/2 years more of bad pictures.
All digital TV's do a worse job on regular broadcast then the current non-digit tv sets.
If you buy a LCD TV, get one that has 120HZ refresh rate and not current 60HZ. Yes, it is twice as fast and that really helps movies and fast action scenes look much clearer. Worth the wait and cost.
