What is the difference between LCD and plasma ?
Answer:
1st check out getting a PROJECTOR i have found out thats a FANTASTIC way to have a big screen flat tv without the cost!
I believe that LCD uses a crystal screen.what's really sad is that a friend just gave me a detailed description about the differences a few days ago, and I can't remember what she said...sorry :)
well LCD is based on liquid crystals for display ,while plasma TV uses gases to produce a picture ,plasma TV as the name suggests is very hot and consumes a lot of electricity .
both have their own advantages and disadvantages
like -
-an lcd has lesser colour reproduction than a plasma
-an lcd has a lesser viewing angle(as someone told you),but most of samsung and sony lcds have a superb viewing angle of 179 degrees
-an lcds contrast ratio is very less compared to a plasma tv's.
- a plasma tv heats up all the time
-a plasma tv costs almost twice as much as an lcd
-a plasma tv consumes huge amout of electricity
- it also has a lower resolution than an lcd resulting in lesser detailed picture.
well id strongly recommend an lcd for your bedroom because its a better technology ,its much lighter (so that you can mount it on the wall),its always cool unlike the plasmas which are pretty hot ,also the plasmas have a chance of a screen burn so dont think twice and get yourself an lcd tv by either samsung or sony (both of which dont have the "angle problem"and u could watch t.v from any angle without image distortion)
