Viewsonic Tv Quality?

I just bought a Viewsonic 26'' lcd TV(was not able to see a display model). My only question is the brightness is 500 cd/m, my coworkers all tell me it is bit dim and its not good for tv. It was about $488 shipped, I then saw a Sharp for about 600 shipped and i think it looked very good.

Will the viewsonic be a good tv for bedroom tv or should i spring another 200 about for the Sharp?

well your coworkers are right ,its a bit too dim for a 26 inch ,most of the 17 ,19 ,20 inch displays have a 300cd/m to 500cd/m while your only has a 300cd/m for a 26 inch .viewsonic lcd tv isnt a good idea viewsonic is known for their lcd monitors ,i would recommend sharp.
If going for a LCD TV and Computer monitor go with a SONY LCD or a Toshiba LCD. Both make the best in LCD and TVs.

ViewSonic has always been a high end of computer monitors.
i dont reccomend a viewsonic. for me getting a tv from a brand that is unknown(or new to making tv's is a mistake) it is like buying an air conditioner for your car from nike, or buying a cell phone from adidas. you never know how the product is going to be. it is better to get a product that has been reviewed buy customers and pros, and get one that will last you a while.
with that said get the toshiba regza 26hl67, i heard its great
i have had the same decision as you, but with a 32 inch. at the end it narrowed down to olevia, viewsonic, sharp, or toshiba. everyone told me toshiba is the 2nd best tv brand around(after the overpriced sonys), and the most reliable. i would say go toshiba.
