Bought an open out boxed LCD at BestBuy for $100 mor w/ 4 year ext. warranty. LCD is smashed. I didn't do it. HELP

BESTBUY (Canada) ($500 value on this warranty for $100, seem fishy).I was told that they have thoroughly checked LCD over, that they do a 2nd check before putting it fund on the floor.Visually checked it over in the lighting provided within the store and it looked fine.No one plugged it in.Also told that this warranty covers everything unless you drop it (those exact words ).Who could rebuff such a deal?

Brought it home ( not a soul else has access to my house ),consequently ran some errands, set it up when we get back (as we be expecting company for NEw YEar's Eve).Turned it on and the LCD was shabby in the lower not here hand corner (web). You can one and only see the damage after turning the element on.Now that we know it is there,u can see small patchy nouns when off.

So upset.New Year hours of darkness was completely ruined. What to do?Anyone have this prob? Will they exchange it?Should I lie and a moment ago say I don't similar to the unit (like the final person did obviously)?I want to be honest and inform it like it is.Please minister to me.

Answers:    tell them that be the condition it came out of the box in-they don't hold to plug it in and check it-but if it is surrounded by an open box they should hold done it there and after (or at least offered to). but bottom strip is if the tv was not switched they cannot prove they be not aware of any fault beside the set-a document attesting that the set has be checked should also accompany the unit-ask them to replace it or you will go and get your lawyer to ask them. they cannot dance by the "sold as seen" rule-if they claim to they should have not sold you the warranty. by selling you this warranty they are stating the set will be any repaired or replaced if it develops an electrical or mechanical irregularity during the warranty's time-if the defect occured within the first twelve months(the manufacturers gaurantee period) the suppler-not the businesswoman has to replace or repair the set. if the set be found to be damaged or inexact at the time of purchase then a repair can be refuse and a replacement demanded-these however are UK consumer laws. but i dare voice our colonial cousins are no different.
Call the manufacturer and describe them the story. My son had matching problem and the manufacturer replaced the TV.
