I purchased a tv from another country and i can't get local channels. should i get cable?

The tv is from Dubai, it's Philips and I'm from the Philippines. I also tried getting an antennae.

Answer:
Your internal tuner in that tv is made to support the PAL signal which is not in the US you need an external tuner to be able to pick up NTSC or ATSC channels. You can always get a VCR connect to the coaxial input and connect the vcr to the tv with RCA cables since VCRs have an internal analog tuner.
Yes, definitely get cable. I don't really think it matters that the TV is from another country..it's hard to get channels without cable no matter what. Although, antennae's usually do let you get SOME reception. If you're getting nothing at all, there could be a problem with the TV.
It's an entirely different scanning system and a cable box won't help.

Just toss it in the trash and buy a TV in your homeland.
