It is cheaper to buy a new one, you will enjoy to pay repair costs, and service costs etc....
since it's merely 68 cm (about 27 inches), yeah buy a new one after making sure it's not contained by some automatic "sleep mode"

It may newly be a simple fuse - either contained by the plug or in the TV.
doesn't your tv own a warranty? ask how much it would take for repairs... if you know anyone who can repair possibly you can negotiate with the price... if it's too expensive better buy a spanking new one (a better quality and model would do)

I infer you should buy a new one, the flat TV peak, it's clearer and the sound is great. I suggest you buy a Sony beside hard disk it's a combination of PC and TV contained by your living room. Now that your old TV malfunction you have a defence to update with the spanking new technology. Here in Japan we metamorphosis the unit even if it's not broken on the other hand, to catch up next to the trend. We either vend the old ones to a recycle shop or make available it to some friends or relatives.
