My TV is about 5 years old. I just bought a new DVD player because my old one gave out and I bought those red, blue,and green HD cables and hooked it up to the TV. A few days later, the last few days, a couple of times a day, there have been PURPLE AND GREEN lines across my TV and then they go away all of the sudden. Any idea what it could be?

I know this may sound obvious but make sure the plugs are placed in the corresponding colors. Also is this happening all the time or just when dvd player is on? It also could be the board that controls color on your television is going bad.
No good go and return it before its too lat eit shouldn't be like that if u ask me u got ripped off
