In the UK do freeview boxes require a TV aerial i.e. on the roof aerial??

Answer:
You need not have an aerial on your roof...an indoor aerial will work, but it depends where the TV is situated..a high position is favourable. I have a TV in my bedroom with a set top aerial which is pointing toward the high aerial at Dover. Here are some channels that I can get. BBC 1...BBC2.ITV1.Channel4.. News 24.BBC Parliament... There are some others but only in sound including music[various]
I'm afraid so, connect it to your existing aerial.
Yes - an indoor aerial will not be good enough to pull in the digital signal.
yes they do.

before i got a proper aerial extension in my bedroom i tuned it into all the channels on the main aerial downstairs and used a rabbit ear or circle thingy aerial with my freeview and it just said no signal so you do need an aerial,
yep
Nah you can get away with an amplified indoor aerial
mine's connected to an indoor arial and it works perfectly. Guess it depends on reception/whereabouts you are!
ideally yes. you can try an indoor aerial but the reception depending on your area could be next to none existent.sorry.
yes
