Why would a tv stop receiving information from any inputs?

Our 10-year old TV seems to have lost the ability to receive information from broadcast signals, cassettes, or DVDs. It just shows a dark static and does nothing in response to any input.

If the tube were gone, I would still think I would hear information since I hear static on my dark fuzzy screen.

Any guesses as to what happened and whether it's worth repairing?

Answer:
The answer here is pretty simple. Your input board went bad. Some wire internally probably shorted out. Its not worth the cost of the repair. You should buy a new one. At today's prices you can get great tv's for great prices.
I'm not certaim what is wrong, but a ten year old TV would almost certainly not be worth the hefty repair bill. Use this as an excuse to go get a flatscreen.
