Fixing a tv set?

We have an elder model Daewoo tv set. Today when it was turned on, it made a strange nouns then the colors go all funky. The picture itself is fine, but within is a strange green toned vignette around the screen, and everyone is as purple as Violet Beauregarde from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". I'd similar to to salvage the tv if it is cost effective to do so. Could this be an undemanding DIY fix?


Answers:    You say " when it be turned on it made a strange sound consequently the colours turned funky " . Ok then this is what have happened ! The degaussing thermistor inferior just as the auto degauss be mid cycle ! It really needs replacement but you will find that if you seize the set degaussed with a degauss wand the pic will be ok for a while but may after get magnetized again depending on what fascinating fields you own around. To fix the set properly should only attract standard repair charge as parts would be low cost , influence less than $10 + occupation 1 hour max . Now all you inevitability do is ask for an estimate for replacing the degauss thermistor !!

sounds like blind needs demagnetized , daewoo not hugely good, comfortable fix though find a demag ring
