How can I soundly discharge a TV?
Is there any bearing to SAFELY discharge the 30k volts in the tv, and how would I travel about doing that!
Answers: Fortunately MOST not adjectives but MOST Sonys have a bleeder resistor that discharges the RED ANODE WIRE....
IF it doesn't, it lately hurts a little....
Take a Flat Blade screwdriver, attach a couple Jumper wires together, attach one closing stages to the metal screwdriver blade and the other end to the steel braid cable touching the outside of the picture tube....Then touch the metal clip underneath the rubber suction cup on the picture tube....
Do not apply any power at any time to the TV set while you are doing this.
NOW....what do you do AFTER that??!! Stare at the TV and wonder what to do subsequent?
The rest of the repair is very amazingly complicated and I PRAY you have at lowest possible two years of College in electronics....
You'll enjoy to test more than one B+ regulator first, later test the Shutdown circuit, consequently disable the Shutdown and test the regulator lower than full power to determine which section is malfunctioning....
So in actuality, I WOULDN'T disconnect the CRT anode wire !
I'd use my SCOPE to determine if the Regulators be going over-voltage First, and if I couldn't read it, THEN I'd disable the Shutdown so I could read it.....
But that's me....I only enjoy a couple years of college and 25 years experience....
HEY! You want me to come over to your house and we'll REBUILD YOUR car engine JUST for the FUN of it?
I THINK I can do it....short any experience whatsoever!
