How do I hook up my hdtv to my comcast cable box?

I tried to use a dvi to hdmi cable, but when I did that the picture kept going in and out and it was really big. I can hook the box up to the tv using the normal rca cables, but it doesn't get the true hd quallity. Please help

Answer:
In fact component is just as good in my perspective, only downside is that you have to route audio cables as well since they dont carry audio/picture like HDMI.

Your box could possibly be on a resolution that your tv doesn't support, yet some tv's support most resolutions. Call comcast and have a tech come out to better diagnose the problem.

Worst case scenario you're tv has problems, best case scenario it's just a setting or a bad HDMI cable

and if there is some kind of problem with the box, the cable guy will replace that for you.
Although DVI is similar to HDMI and can be cross compatible in many cases the software running for DVI and HDMI decoding/encoding is very different. I would try using component cables from your HD box to TV, which will give you very close to HDMI quality.
