What cable Service should I get?

This is the first time my family is getting cable, and my Dad has no idea which service to get. Any reccomendations regarding cable, Dish Network, DirectTV, or Insight?

Answer:
Go with cable whenever possible. It may be more pricier but you never have to worry about your service going out because of rain or snow. I have worked for a Dish Network installation company and knowing how poor of an installation can be done or the service you get (both reception and customer service) I would never go with them. I have Time Warner and I pay $140/month for my cable with DVR and all the channels (except for the premiums), digital phone, and internet. I also got free installation and equipment with my cable plus I never have to pay for a technician to come to my house if my equipment goes out or I'm just having problems with my service. Plus its nice to not have any contracts.
Just get the local cable service near you. Satellite's, directtv, dish are too much of a hastle.
comcast or insight!
DirecTV! I had cable for years and just the TV service alone was $70/month. That was for the basic cable, the extended cable (MTV, Nick, Discovery, etc.), the basic digital cable package that was "required" in order to have DVR service, the DVR service, and the DVR rental fee...

I switched to DirecTV and I pay $60/month but I get more channels than I did with cable and I get some of the channels that I wanted with cable but had to pay extra for. I also have a DVR box with DirecTV and they only charge $5/month for that regardless of how many boxes you have. With cable, you have to pay per box. Plus, installation and equipment was free with DirecTV!
are u looking for just cable or a package with cable and internet or phone?
Hi Aaron,

I'd clearly vote for Dish cause:

- cheaper
- more channels and more variety
- awesome picture quality

You might check out http://www.dishnetworkbargains.com... - They currently run some promo with free Dish and DVR you might take advantage of. If you have any questions just call 'em up, they are professional and helpful.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes
Jenna
