? plasma vs lcd. power consumption. plasma is supposed to enjoy a greater rate.?
Answers: Either one of those two can consume almost 200 to 250 Watts of power....
250 watts x 10 hours a day x 30 days a month = 75,000 Watt hours or 75 KWh.....
At 10c a kilowatt hour, you're looking at $7.50 a month to run it (and these are Maximum values I used)
So.......Do you want to ENJOY watching TV or do you discern you must SUFFER to save our planet?
You don't hold to suffer....just switch a couple more Incandescent bulbs to Flourescent bulbs and you'll be even....
"Plasma displays with the sole purpose emit street lamp where indispensable, consuming less power on average when displaying moving imagery than their peak power ratings indicate. This results surrounded by plasma displays being more economical for box viewing, offering lower yearly power consumption within large eyeshade TVs.
Although some LCDs quote lower peak power ratings than similar sized plasma displays, they constantly hold on to a bright backlight on regardless of the image mortal displayed. LCD power consumption is always at around indistinguishable level, consuming more power on average than high-ranking performance plasmas when viewing moving imagery."
