Why is my TV not compatable with any type of remote control?

How old is this TV some really old TVs use sound for controlling them. You can't hear the sound, but the remote will have a plate with a bunch of little hole's in the front of it.
Try a universal remote and enter the codes for a Jensen TV.

Since it used to work with a remote; do you know if it was an IR remote (infra red) or RF remote (radio frequency) ? Universal remotes generally are only IR so if your set was RF, it wouldnt work.
If you look thru the literature for a universal remote and find details about your set, then it was likely IR. Maybe the IR sensor in the front of your set if burnt out or maybe you have inadvertantly blocked it with something. Take a flash light and carefully look around the front of your set for something shiny set back behind dark redish transparent plastic. That should be your IR sensor. Assuming its not blocked, it may just be broken.
Have you tried the scan feature for one of your Universal Remotes? Most (not all though) have a scan to find the right code for your Tv.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the TV and ask them for either the universal code number or what they can do about it (if it's under warranty). Google the company and see if they have the numbers available (some do , some don't).
If it's new, take it back to the store and get a new one, if not ,see if your area has a local TV repair shop and ask them about it.
Firstly, there are different types of infrared remote controls. And some of the older ones are not recognized by the newer systems.
One thing you can do is to get the model number of your specific Jensen TV model and websearch it to see what the remote control model number is. Then you can search for that remote model number and hopefully get an exact replacement. And of course, eBay is always a good place to look once you find out that model number.
And Keep in mind, even a Jensen remote of a different model won't necessarily work on YOUR tv. they have slightly different codes for different level models.
First of all, how old is your tv? If it was made prior to the 11990s, it's possibe that the only remote that will work with it, is the brand of remote that came with it. If lateh r, any remote should. They usually come with a booklet which contains a list of brands of tvs and codes. Pick your brand of tv in that booklet from whatever remote (in your case Jensen). then push the correct button on the remote to progarm it, and try each code the remote's booklet has for that brand of tv. It's not terribly simple to do, but it's not terribly difficult either, and can be done. If none work, talk to a tv sales person or repair shop.
Get a universal remote & try one of these numbers to run the TV :
