Recently downloaded new software for Digital TV box,as per on-screen invite.?

Now unable to get true wide-screen pictures as before. What has happened? Can I cure it ? Stretching the picture using the TV controls causes distortion.

Answer:
check the menu settings on box and change to 16;9 , when you reset the channels on the newer boxes it factory resets everything, including the screen used !
Call the company and complain. No one here is going to be able to help because you didn't provide enough info.
