Improving satelite TV quality in bad weather?
Answer:
The first thing you can do is check your signal level. Go into your menu & bring up the screen that shows how much strength there is. Now if your level seems low (80-90% is good) then you can try this.
If the dish is easy to access, go behind it , while someone is watching the signal strength, & put slight pressure on the left side or the right side then the top & finally the bottom of the dish. Do all this without loosening any bolts.
Now if there was an increase in signal strength while doing this & you feel like you can fix it yourself-go for it!
If you do decide to fix it, loosen as few bolts as possible, make one move at a time & GO SLOW!!
Good Luck.
With a black marker, make a mark on all your settings before you decide to loosen any bolts. Then you have a reference to go back to if you get too far off track.
You need to construct a telescoping pole to raise the dish above the bad weather!
Oh yea, make sure you put a flashing light on it so planes dont hit it...
We had the same problem, but when my wife called the dish network, they fixed it. Now it does not loose signal as often.
whats going on with the picture, is your sattelite probably needs aligned. Your signal strength is probably not as good as it could be, and that makes it easier to lose the signal. Call your provider and let em know about the problem. They will probably be able to send somebody out to look at it.
