I have a samsung projection tv It does not work The warranty just ran out. I turn it on the timer light blinks
Answer:
eeek. Unfortunatly most samsungs fail right after warranty. And Samsung lures you in with a good price then back hands you on the price of parts.
Expect from samsung, long time to get parts if even available, expect a high repair bill because they only do board replacements, no support.
Most people dont get it repaired because the price to repair it and the price to buy a new one are really close.
Check the bulb to see if its bad, you will notice it not looking like a bulb, discolored in all.
The problem is that the lamp burnt out. I am highly likely that the lamp that lights up the screen burnt out. I had the exact same problem with my toshiba. I would turn it on, and just here the sound. Then in about 15 sec. the timer light would flash and the tv would go off. Then it would turn itself back on, and do this over and over until i turned it back off. The lamp needs to be replaced. Not sure how much, mine was under warrenty.
If you did not have the bulb fail during the warranty, then it probably is the bulb, You can expect a few hundred dollars for a replacement, and yes you can do it yourself, if fact even under warranty they would expect you to do it yourself. May not be the bulb, but if you do purchase a bulb, ask how long the bulb is warrantied, some only have 90 day coverage. Keep in mind too, if you buy a new set in the future an extended warranty would only have cost a few dollars more than the price of the bulb and the bulb would have been covered.
