What is wrong with my DLP TV?

Well, when I turn the tv on, there is a whinning noise. After the unit has powered up, the images turn blue, then yellow, then red. After that the TV powers off. I replaced the bulb, same result. I think it is the color wheel going out, becasue sometimes the TV works just fine. Let me know what you think it might be. Please dont respond unless you have an idea of what it might be. FYI, the TV is a Samsung 42" DLP # HL-S4266W. Thanks

Answer:
Could be the color wheel motor or its power supply.
First, DLP is a fairly new technology so unless you were one of the very early consumers, your TV is probably still covered by a warranty. Check your paperwork.

Second, this doesn't sound like something a novice should be fixing. Your color wheel is probably bad. If you are not under warranty, sometimes it costs a large % of the cost of a new set to get it fixed.
Personally I think DLP's are worthless, you'd get the same results with a film projector from a high school A/V dept.
get rid of it! Its '80's technology being milked to death!
