Why do flatscreen tv's other hold more pixels than what they want even if the tv wasn't designed for HD




Answers:    Simple, the DISPLAY doesn't have to be designed for 1080 or 720 ONLY.....

That's simply the signal's SPECS.....

You can display it on a big GIANT 19,200 x 10,800 Display if you wanted to.....
Then you'd hold to stand back roughly speaking 80 to 100 feet to savour it.....

But the fact of the thing is, Your HD SIGNAL FITS THE DISPLAY BECAUSE THE DISPLAY <<AND>> THE VIDEO PROCESSOR WERE BUILT TO WORK <<TOGETHER>>

So the Video processor takes apart the signal you recieve and "re-builds" the in one piece picture to FIT on the display.....
That's why you see some 768 displays out there....
