Freeview boxes?
Answer:
Hi, I got one last month for in my room and it worked fine, just make sure you have a decent inside aerial and you should be fine. x
yes i have them in all the rooms upstairs and they work fine
i bought one for my bedroom and don't have an outside aerial and it doesn't work!! the thing is now is that the shop wont take it back so i am stuck with a freeview box that i can't use. What u can get is a digisender which plugs into the back of your bos downstairs and into your tv upstairs they are about £30.
No you still have to have a means of receiving the tv signal
No, you wont be able to receive freeview without an aerial. Sorry!.
You would need to have a strong signal for your freeview box to work. You might not need an external aerial and could use one of those little indoor antenna for tvs though it depends if the signal is strong enough.
hope that helps
Yes they work fine all over the house as long as your area can get freeview. There is a site you can check this with
Potentially yes.
It all depends on the signal strength in your area and the gain of your aerial, you need a slightly stronger signal going into a freeview reciever than you would for a standard analogue television alone.
You can but as I and many others have found - depending on your location the pictures from some channels are not great if you can get a picture.
I would invest in a wideband high gain aerial and connect it up that way - they can be fitted in loft space - then just run the cable down the outside wall and into the box. OR buy a double aerial socket - replace your existing one and run the cable into that - it will work with normal TV broadcast as well
You don't need an outside aerial in order to receive Freeview - one inside should do. However, if you don't get reception you can always get a booster (they are quite cheap) which just increases the signal strength, and in most cases it should work!
There are no guarantees try it with an inside aerial. If it does not work then what you could do is get a two way aerial booster. Plug your existing aerial into the booster and take one lead to the downstairs set and run another lead up to the bedroom. This should make sure you get a good picture.
No but i did buy a special indoor Ariel.
you need an external and it needs to be wideband you also
need to do a post code cheque to see if you have digtal coverage .you can then decide if you want a hard drive in your freeview box .try too find one that has two tuners if you go 4 this optian because you can watch one chanel wile recording another
it all depends how strong the signal is where you are, a loft aerial will work ok, but not as strong a signal as an outside aerial !
