How high should i mount my 52" lcd tv on the wall?

mount it at a height that looks good to u from where u normally sit.
Go to any Audio Visual store and purchase a kit. Thats the best way.
Your definitely going to want to locate the wall studs and adapt your wall bracket to anchor directly into these. Do this first and take a measurement so you know what kind of wall bracket to get. Note: I've had to design and construct some custom extensions using uni-strut to make the brackets work.
Also consider a location where you can easily relocate an existing electrical receptacle and cable entry jack plate to a higher wall level to facilitate hiding the power connections.
