Answers:    The so called TV Licence,

Is in-fact the Broadcast Receiving Licence

You MUST enjoy a Licence if you have any type of equipment efficient of receiving ANY State Licenced box broadcasts in the United Kingdom (NOT freshly the BBC ANY Broadcast) and at anytime you use the equipment to receive broadcasts.

However you can own a de-tuned TV Set connected to a DVD player, or a de-tuned VCR

But I suspect TV Licencing will pester you unless you Physically disable the units Tuner
Apparantly you will still hold to pay it because of the 'possibility' of you obtain the channels.
Yes, if you own a tube you must have a license to receive any channel, not just BBC.

The TV license is more of a "tube tax" rather than a tax for watching BBC channels.
Your licence is for have a TV set not for watching BBC unfortunately.
Yes. It's a export tax you have to rate if you have equipment proficient of receiving TV broadcasts.
Short answer, yes. they aim that someone could record BBC and slip away on tape/disc to you for viewing, they got adjectives angles covered, also their computer tells them who does not enjoy a licence, then they comes a knock.... the fine is bigger than the fee, best to repay but complain to your MP.
if you are over 60 years old, you dont inevitability a licence, otherwise, if you have a tv,you do requirement a licence, whether you
watch it or not.
we struggle to bring back bbc at times and we have to foot, its a farce really, i dont even watch the tube, its programmes are appalling for lb130 a year.
You clearly have reception problems to sort out, but if you receive TV signals for any Television channel and the time of broadcast (allowing for delay in some systems) you hold to pay the TV licence.
If you enjoy BT broadband they are offering a tv service on the computer for from lb6 a month.
If you can get sky, you can find free satellite if you pay for installation of the sky box and dish.

The free licence is for family of 75 years or older.
Yes,the certainty that you have a tv mode you have to pay packet.
because there is the slightest possibility that you may receive bbc 4 on your tv by mistake, you must income the bbc 135 quid.

I know that sucks but if you have ever be to the usa you always come wager on home more willing to pay cheque!
First you'll need to prove you can't receive any BBC channel. The licence fee is simply in attendance because the BBC don't advertise and that's the style it gets it's revenue. I reflect on (I may be wrong) that you are exempt if you can prove you don't watch and can't possibly receive ANY BBC channel. If I remember right, there be one couple who doctored their TV by adjusting the tuning capacitors on the TV's circuit board so that it couldn't receive anything on the band that the BBC broadcast in. They proved this and as a result be exempt from paying the licence. The best way is to appointment them and explain the situation, then they should grant you an accurate answer.
afraid so they got ya by the short+curlies, did ya know years ago if you have a black+white tv and a vcr you had to buy a colour licence because vcr be a colour receiver
