Why does my tv screen have green edges ?

my tv screen had green edges in the bottom and the top... its kinda not showing the true color of the picture too. and for some strange reason, the tv picture itself is with a slope. it is not straight ! anyone has any idea??

Answer:
Pete's right.. if it doesn't have a bonded yoke. If it is an RCA, GE, Proscan, Toshiba (or several others with bonded yokes), look for a tilt swith on the back. Also, make sure there are no sources of magnetic fields within two to three feet of the screen face. This includes VCR motors, speakers, door latches, all kinds of things. I've seen stone hearths cause it too.
If you got a vcr, dvd player, game system try moving it. If the TV and the other systems are positioned weird there may be viewing problems.
may be ur tv speakers are very much colse to the screen and they are not magnetically shielded. their magnetism will disturb the tv tube once it is switched on. get it set right and hope ur problem will get solved once for all.
I My guess is that the deflection yoke has moved ! this is the only thing that would cause the picture to be tilted and the convergence to be off !
What needs to be done is to put the yoke back in its original position , The deflection yoke is the big thing on the tube neck inside the set ! Not difficult if you know how , Routine job for TV Tech.
Cheers Pete
