Does amazon.co.uk notify the tv licencing people if i buy a tv?

Answer:
Of course they don't, they expect everyone who is buying a tv to already have one. There is no law on retailers giving this information to the Government. The only law is that you are required to have a TV license, and it is your resonsponsibility and yours alone. Obviously the licensing board will have records of possible houses that do not have one to be checked. I would recommend you do buy one if you dont want the hefty fine you get if you get caught without one.
