Dont know what brand of lcd tv to buy , any suggestions?.?
Answer:
sony, best reputation in electronics for service.
If your asking about price though, this is where sony falls flat, you do pay more- and then some more on top of that! cos they know they can get away with it.
Though I still say sony is the best, it depends what your looking for, some have more functions than others but ask yourself before buying it, what you would like it to do, then look again, which offer the better options? eg better picture, better sound, better reliability, ...etc,
Try asking the people in a comet or currys store- even if you are planning on buying online, visit several stores so you get a clearer answer.
Also try the which.co.uk site (you may need to regester to join) or visit your local library as they all get the which guide in and back stock it so you can read up on any reviews on t.vs and stuff they have done recently. They give unbias and thorough reviews and rate each item overall as well as breaking it down bit by bit.
It may seem a bit long winded but put it this way, your going to be spending a large amount of your earnings on a television, it would be gutting if you bought one and found that "if you'd only read into it and known about the poor sound quality over time..." you'd be gutted!
If I were buying a new tv and had money to butrn, my preferece order would go something like this:
sony
phillips = panasonic = sharp
goodmans
other
If it were price I was worried about, I'd see if either comet.co.uk or richersounds.co.uk or kelkoo.co.uk had any good prices (n.b always check the store and their website as quite often the differ), and unless any stuck out as excellent offers, it would be
goodmans
sharp=panasonic
phillips
sony
look whats on offer at play or currys
Well we bought an LG from Currys .. did a lot of research before and the set has been absolutely fab. It's a much bigger name than we realise as LG apparently make more screens, including PC monitors, than anyone else. The quality was great as is the performance. My only other option was a Sony but the price put me off! Good luck in your choice ...
45 inch plasma
Sony Bravia are about the best.
A mate bought a 32 inch samsung from comet yesterday.
It's pretty cool, and has a great quality picture
Just bought an LG yes it was cheap and many people would laugh at th ethought but in comparison to other lcd of the same price it has far more functions and with the kids running about would not be to bothered if it got damaged
I bought an LCD telly out of Argos at Christmas. Acoustic solutions, I am very happy with it.
32" for GBP 399.99
Techwood 37" lcd (black), £500 from woolworths or tj hughes. I have one they look and sound great and the techwood badge is discreet. 3 years warranty too.
Can't be beaten
Hi Raymond.. I have been looking at this today. What ever set you decide on make sure that it has HD or its not really worth the money. I think the best picture clarity is on either of these ones. LG, JVC, PANASONIC, SONY, SAMSUNG, TOSHIBA. sorry if I have mispelt any names.. look first in Tescos.. then have a look in Argos.. and then one store like curry's. The competion with curry's means the other electrical stores with similar items are about the same prices. I would go for tescos. LG and JVC are great.
Smile...
