42inch vs 50 inch 720p which is better picture?

does the panasonic 42 inch have a better, crisper picture than a larger 50 inch due to have to cover less nouns with alike amount of pixels?

Answers:    The 42" will appear to be sharper, because each pixel is smaller. But that also depends on close close to you plan to sit to the TV. The closest optimal distance to sit from the TV is 2.5X the diagonal size, For example, for a 50" TV, the closest you should sit to it is 50 x 2.5, or 125 inches ~ 10 foot.... your eyeballs should not be any closer to a 50" 720p tv than 10 feet. For 1080p tv, you could probably sit closer by a factor of 2/3.

Since the resolution is duplicate, I would then look at other factor:

Deep Black Levels - Are the dark areas truely black? Can you see the details surrounded by the dark areas.
Color - Is the color rich? Do the colors look pure?

I would try to tweek / set the color and picture controls for each TV at its best, and after compare which has the better picture at its best.
