Is there a way to save videos from DVR to computer hard drive/disk?

Answer:
If you own the receiver, there are a couple of yahoo groups you can join ie dishmod where there are plenty of techies willing to walk you through the process. I say own, because it involves taking apart the receiver, and you don't want to do that with a leased receiver.
There is. A lot of DVR's have usb outs. You can hook it up with usb. The other way to do it is to hook up an s-video and audio cables to the computer but you have to have that input on the computer.
